Our Ceremonies

Ceremony and rituals have long played a vital and essential role in our culture. Spirituality is an integral part of our very being.  Symbolic healing rituals and ceremonies are held to bring participants into harmony with themselves, our tribes, and our environment.

Healing includes beliefs and practices that combine religion, spirituality, herbal medicine, and rituals, that are used for both medical and emotional conditions. From the Native American perspective, medicine is more about healing the person than curing a disease. Traditional healers worked to make the individual “whole,” believing that most illnesses stem from spiritual problems.  This is perspective is our core value for The Angelique Temple.

Kambo Ceremony

Cacoa Ceremony

Shamanic healing is one of the oldest holistic healing practices. A cacao ceremony is actually a type of shamanic healing, but it doesn’t have hallucinogenic or “out of body” effects.

Cacao ceremony is rooted in helping to re-balance the energies within us, and restore good health.

Some ceremonies will lead a journey of dance, while others will centre on meditation and inner reflection or drum circle around the fire.

Our cacao ceremonies involve a group of people sitting in a sacred circle, taking incision, letting go of anything heavy, setting intentions, giving thanks for all the abundance in our life today.

Naming Ceremony

Naming Ceremony

Although most name their children at birth, traditionally our culture named our children after birth so families could tune into the child and listen for their name and around 6 weeks old a naming ceremony was held for the family and community. However, these ceremonies are also held for adults, whenever an individual chooses a new name to reflect their most authentic self.

In some Native American naming traditions, for example, individuals are given many different names throughout their life, as a way to reflect significant changes in their personality or individual abilities and strengths. And in Druid communities, some adults participate in Naming Rites to celebrate a time of healing and rebirth after making it through a particularly difficult period of life.
